Letter to School Nurses

National School Nurse Day May 12, 2021

Dear School Nurses,

The Arlington School Nurses Association would like to express our gratitude for each of you and to celebrate your accomplishments this year. You contributed greatly to your community by helping your students stay healthy and ready to learn. Your education, guidance, and wisdom do not go unnoticed by your community and peers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given us a chance to shine and has brought light to the essential role school nurses play in our students’ health and future academic successes.

I think we can all admit that this was a “crazy year”, and one we will all remember for the rest of our careers. We met the daily physical health needs of our students and staff. We facilitated health screenings and educated our staff and students. We served as our campus COVID coordinators and were an invaluable resource for knowledge and education. I know many of you worked tirelessly outside of school hours answering questions and helping with contact tracing.

Congratulations on the completion of the 2020-2021 school year! You have accomplished so much this year, and you should all be very proud to call yourselves school nurses.
