ARTICLE I

The name of this organization shall be the Arlington School Nurses Association. (1-26-21)

ARTICLE II

Vision Statement

The Arlington School Nurses Association’s vision is to promote a positive professional image of school nursing through support of evidenced-based nursing practice, continued professional education, and leadership development. (9-23-08)

Mission Statement

The mission of the Arlington School Nurses Association is to support the school nurses’ primary health care role and be an advocate for the well-being, academic success and life-long achievements of persons under their care, as well as stewardship of the nursing profession.

ARTICLE III

Objectives:

• Promote the role of the school nurse as an essential professional member of the Arlington Independent School District (AISD) organization.

• Advocate and promote the well-being and academic success of students so that they may become productive healthy members of society.

• Collaborate with school nurses, AISD administration, and community resources to support the overall well-being of its population

• Stewardship of the nursing profession through mentoring, professional acknowledgement and scholarships. (9-23-08)

ARTICLE IV
Membership
Membership shall be open to all AISD registered nurses.

ARTICLE V

Officers

The officers shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.​ The officers will be elected by a majority vote of members at the last meeting of the school year, every other year (even numbered years). Term of office shall be two years. Vacancy of an office will be filled by majority vote of members present at the next regular meeting. (01-26-21)

ARTICLE VI

Duties of Officers:

President:​ To preside at all meetings, to serve as official representative of the organization, to serve as an ex-officio member of committees.

Vice President​: To assume the President’s duties in their absence, make arrangements for programs, and to secure the meeting place of the organization.

Secretary​: ​To keep records of meetings, to keep a current membership list, and to send out notices of meetings.​ (01-26-21)

Treasurer:​

​To collect dues, manage the organization’s financial reports, and to provide treasury

reports at the meetings detailing: expenses, income, and current balance.

Meetings
This organization shall meet on the 4t​h​ Tuesday, at ​4:30pm​, in September, January, and April (01-26-21)

ARTICLE VIII
Dues
Membership dues shall be $5.00 yearly (1-26-21)

ARTICLE IX

Quorum

Two officers and the present members of the Association in attendance at a meeting shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business (04-10-07)

ARTICLE X

Amendments

Amendments to the constitution shall be enacted after a favorable vote of the quorum present at a meeting. Members shall be notified of proposal prior to that meeting (04-10-07)
